Endebess Member of Parliament Robert Pukose now wants the Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC) to terminate the allowances of all lawmakers allied to the National Super Alliance (NASA).

Addressing journalists in Eldoret Town, Pukose asked the speakers of both the Senate and the National Assembly to compel PSC not to pay the legislators for boycotting sittings in the two Houses.

"NASA Senators and MPs do not deserve the payment as they rarely perform their roles in both Houses since they were elected on August 8," the Jubilee MP said.

Opposition legislators skipped the official opening of the Parliament by President Uhuru Kenyatta about two months ago, arguing that Kenyatta, who they said is on temporary incumbency, had no powers to open the Parliament.

ODM Chairman and Suba MP John Mbadi said the first sitting of the House is supposed to be used by a newly-elected President to spell out his agenda to the country.

NASA co-principal and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang'ula said the Opposition had resolved to withdraw its members from attending all proceedings of the House as well as committees until a fresh presidential election is held.

“We will not be part of any parliamentary proceedings and House committees as the House currently constituted is full of illegalities and is a Jubilee parliament,” said Wetang’ula during an interview with the Nation.
