South Mugirango MP Silvanus Osoro said the increased number of board members has affected the running of schools in the region.

He stated that he will table a bill in the national assembly to seek the MPs support to reduce the number of board members for the easy running of schools.

“There must be a restriction on the size of board management members because the high number of members has negatively affected the running of institutions not only in South Mugirango but also across the country,” he said.

He said that the board should be having nine members.

The MP argued that if the number of the members is reduced there will be no embezzlement of school funds because most of the members are after diverting school money meant for development to their own pockets.

“We don’t want more people to serve in the BOM because some are only interested in misusing and misappropriating funds to fill their stomachs,” he added.
