Nyando MP Fred Outa is now calling for the disbandment of parliament in the wake of corruption war if indeed legislators pocketed some money to save cabinet secretary Ann Waiguru from being impeached. Outa said that the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) is accusing Deputy President William Ruto’s chief of staff, Maryanne Keitany, of embezzling over Sh200 million. The MP said that according to the commission, Sh100 million was used to mobilise MPs during the impeachment motion against Ann Waiguru. He said if those accusations are found to be true then the entire parliament should pack and go to pave way for a fresh election. Speaking in his constituency during the burial of the father of the Kenyan High Commissioner to Nigeria, Tom Amollo, Outa said the credibility of parliament will be watered down if such allegations are found to be true. He, however, said the fight against corruption should be overboard and devoid of political witchhunt. Outa said the initiative by the president has been hailed by Kenyans but the manner in which it is being rushed through is suspicious. He said the constitution is very clear that it is not the mandate of the president to bring such a report to parliament.
