Mose said the latest incident where a businessman was attacked and killed in Mosobeti shows that the officers serving in the region are not enough.

“We have an increased population in the region and I wish to urge Matiang’i to bring more officers in the region by setting up a police post at Gesima market so that criminals targeting traders can either be scared or be flushed out,” he said.

The lawmaker said police officers should consider intensifying security patrols in Nyamakoroto and Riamisiani areas where criminals have been attacking and robbing residents.

The MP vowed that he will not allow lazy and underperforming security officers to serve in his constituency.

"Any officer who will not be responsible on his or her duties will have no option other than getting a transfer. The police officers should work around the clock to ensure my people are safe and their property,” he added.

He warned local youths against joining gang groups to steal from people in the region saying the law cuts across all edges.
