Borabu MP Ben Momanyi has asked the government to educate women on their constitutional rights.
The lawmaker claimed that women not only in Borabu but across the country lack exposure about the current happenings in the country.
“We have had few women seeking elective post because they lack the exposure. The government should educate women on their rights especially borrowing of loans to start small businesses so that they can get funds to venture into active politics to compete with men,” he said.
He reiterated that he will help women from the constituency to start small businesses to boost their income earnings.
He called on local youths, disabled persons and women not to shy away from seeking elective posts in the county and at the national level.
"Women, youths and disabled have equal rights to vie for any elective posts in this country. Elderly people are tired and should be given a stiff competition so that they can accept to retire and enjoy their old age pension with their grand children at home,” he noted.
Momanyi urged Nyamira County MPs to engage women so that they don’t feel neglected and ignored in the society.
