Police have been put on task to carry out thorough investigations to unearth the mystery surrounding the death of controversial Nairobi businessman Jacob Juma for the sake of assuring government critics their safety.
Mr Juma was gunned down by unknown assailants a week ago in Nairobi and his body later on retrieved along Lenana road.
Kisii county Women Mary Otara says the death may throw the country into a state of anarchy if it’s not thoroughly investigated.
“I want the police to come out clear of Juma’s murder because it was not a normal death. The circumstances tell it all and this could be a bad precedence to the country if the truth isn’t told,” she said.
“We don’t want our country to be thrown into a state of anarchy through unprecedented assassinations. The police must give a clear report on the same and arrest the perpetrators as soon as possible,” she added.
She also called for the deployment of security to any Kenyan who raise concerns whenever he/she feels threatened to avert assassination incidents.
“All Kenyans are entitled to security and whenever they raise an alarm, it’s the obligation of the government to ensure they are secure," said Otara.
"Juma said severally that he was being tracked but nothing happened. We cannot allow people to be killed aimlessly while we have security people who are paid through taxpayers’ money,” she said.
