President Kenyatta is expected to address both houses of parliament (Senate and National Assembly) on Thursday next week according to House Speaker Justin Muturi.

Momanyi on Thursday said Kenya has had enough of corruption debates, and challenged the President to shift his address to issues threatening sovereignty and national security of the country.

“Last time, we gave him (Kenyatta) audience in the house and he spoke passionately about corruption. We all know that the situation has deteriorated further despite the President’s promise to tackle it. Millions of shillings are lost and the culprits are free walking in the streets. We have had enough of corruption discussions,” Momanyi told the reporter.

“I would like him to address the national security and sovereignty of the country following the row surrounding Migingo Island and continued stay of our soldiers in Somalia,” the Wiper MP added.

He accused the President of treating the Migingo border row ‘casually’, and said time had come for him to take stiff actions that could even culminate into sanctioning the neighboring Uganda.

“Uganda has continuously harassed innocent Kenyans. We do not want to lose our territory while the president is mum. Time has come for him to crack the whip on Uganda but I am afraid that he is treating the problem casually,” he said.

On Somalia, Momanyi proposed withdrawal of soldiers from the war torn national and urged Kenya to guard its borders.

“Our soldiers completed their mission in Somalia. Time has come for us to retreat and guard our borders,” Momanyi said.
