This trend must stop,” said Nassir. He appealed to parents to value girl child education and avoid only focusing on empowering the boy child.Nassir pleaded with girls to focus on their education, adding that the county leadership was putting measures in place to ensure there is a conducive learning environment for students.“By improving the learning facilities in the county, we want to see you excel and make us Mombasa parents proud,” he said.On her part, the school principal Mwanamissy Omar called on parents to closely monitor their children while at home as well as their progress in school.“We have some parents who only come here to register their children in form one and they never return until their girls complete form four,” said Omar.
