Addressing the media from his office on Sunday, Munyua said that he was working towards kicking jigger infestation out of the the area and that he would not stop until all the infected residents are treated and are fully recovered.

He said that jigger menace has a national issue plague that needs to be addressed, since many people are neglected in their homes by family members most of whom live in various towns adding that most affected are the elderly who are greatly afflicted.

Munyua condemned families who lived in cities and forget their elderly parents, calling their actions inhuman adding that such people should at least assign someone to take care of their relatives.

He added that he would call for the Ahadi Kenya anti-jigger campaign team to visit the Constituency and help kick jigger out of the area that has spearheaded poverty.

Munyua lauded the Ahadi Kenya Chairman Stanley Kamau for the job well done in other counties which he said has so far helped Kenyans who were affected by the jiggers.

He has further called on the county government to revisit the issue and prioritise on it before the financial year. According to him, it was a shame for the county to be infested by jiggers when leaders were watching.

“Leaders in various counties and sub-counties should where there is this menace should kick jiggers out of Kenya since it is an embarrassing scene to watch people suffering from jiggers infection,” said Munyua.
