Ugenya MP David Ochieng’ says the ungrateful nature of Siaya Governor Amoth Rasanga has compelled him to withdraw his support for him in favour of Senator James Orengo.
Orengo, a trusted lieutenant of opposition leader Raila Odinga, has expressed his bid to replace Rasanga in 2017 polls.
And on Monday, Ochieng’ revealed giving the incumbent a campaign vehicle and Sh1 million during 2013 polls only for the Governor to ignore him throughout his administration.
“I have withdrawn my support from Rasanga because he is ungrateful. I thought friends should appreciate each other but he lacks those virtues. I am now supporting Orengo,” reports The Star.
“I gave him my campaign car in 2013 with an addition of Sh1 million which he has never spoken about since taking office. He was broke by then and now I have come to know that he is not a good friend, “he added.
Rasanga is the only Governor in Kenya who was subjected to a by election after a successful petition by his competitor William Oduol.
