Igembe South Member of Parliament Mithika Linturi has accused opposition leaders of being individuals with competing self-interests.
The legislator further said the leaders will not be able to settle on a flag bearer to lead them into the August polls, saying none of them is ready to shelve their interests for the sake of Kenyans.
"The people running to be the opposition flag bearer are people we have had for a long time, these are just individuals with competing interests," he told NTV's AMLive show on Tuesday.
"I am in doubt if there is any of them ready to sacrifice his interests for the sake of this country," he added.
The MP, however, insisted that should the opposition settle on another candidate rather than the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga, then they will lose by a big margin to the Jubilee government in the coming polls.
"I want to tell you for a fact that if the opposition candidate is no Raila Odinga, the opposition is cooked. There is no chance at all of clinching the presidency," he said.
