Two MCAs have refuted claims made last Friday by Thika Town MP Alice Ng’ang’a that most of the Kiambu County officials come from Ruiru sub-county.
Kiambu leader of majority Patrick Chege and the Biashara MCA Joe Mutiga on Thursday morning said that Ng’ang’a’s claims were very untrue.
“You all heard what Ng'ang'a said on Friday that Governor Willliam Kabogo, Speaker Gathii Irungu and Chege comes from Ruiru sub-county. This is very untrue. They all come from very different sub-counties,” majority leader Patrick Chege said.
Speaking in Ruiru Catholic Church during the budget public participation, Mutiga said Kabogo comes from Githunguri sub-county but lives in Juja while Speaker Gathii comes from Kiambaa and lives in Juja and only Chege comes from Ruiru.
Chege added that Ruiru was getting a very raw deal by having only one senior position in the Assembly and yet it was the largest constituency with eight wards.
