People who were affected by the recent terror attacks in Lamu's Mpeketoni area now want the government to compensate and resettle them. The IDPS claim that they were also affected by the recent turmoil that hit the area and escaped with nothing to their name They now seek to have the government give them the two and a quarter acre piece of land and ksh 10 000 that was accorded to the other IDPS. “We lost our loved ones and were injured in the confrontation. The more than 100 victims were speaking to the press in Nakuru town where they lamented that they did not have any food to give to their children. “we are appealing to the government through the special program department to provide us with cooking flour, oil, tents and beans and maize,” said Jeremiah Maina Maina said that they had already compiled a list with their names and would present it to th county government seeking recognition. Peter Kariuki, the National Chair of Internally Displaced persons, urged the government to assist them in rebuilding their lives. “We want every Kenyan to live as comfortable as possible despite her losses.
