Airbus has announced that they will be starting a training for engineers on Saturday for students.
The program called ‘Airbus Little Engineer’ is set to take place at the M-PESA Foundation Academy in Thika and students ages 10 through 16 will be educated on science, technology, and math.
Kenya and Nigeria have been chosen as the countries set to carry out the global training programme.
“Africa has developed an ‘innovation’ culture that is growing fast with many social entrepreneurs. We want to support and work with them,” Andrea Debbane, Airbus Foundation executive director said.
The Aircraft manufacturer is targeting at least 3,000 students in both countries.
“It is important that we all join efforts to facilitate the access to STEM skills. These skills play a key role because STEM-related jobs are at the core of solving the complex problems of today’s world and its future.”
