Two MPs from Garissa County have highly criticised the performances of all the MCAs and the County Executives in the county.
Ijara MP Ibrahim Abass and his Daadab counterpart Mohamed Dahiye say that the MCAs and the County Executives do not even go to meet the residents and hear their grievances.
Dahiye said: "It is very sad that the MCAs do not visit the people who elected them and gave them jobs. How do they expect to know what is going on their wards if they do not even visit there.”
“The county executives are supposed to be the ones implementing projects but this is not the case here in Garissa. The County Executives do not even know projects that have been completed and which have not even started," Dahiye added.
Speaking while at a Garissa Hotel on Tuesday during the opening of the new Garissa County assembly offices, Abass said that the MCAs have a duty to link the wards with the government by visiting all the people who elected them.
Abass urged the residents to be very careful when voting for the MCAs next time.
"When the next elections come, be careful who you vote for since it really matters when it comes to development," Abass said.
