Kisauni MP Ali Mbogo has called on youth who have just completed their secondary education to focus on pursuing their careers.
Speaking during a meeting with form four leavers in the constituency, Mbogo advised the youth to make good career choices and always seek assistance from his office when it comes to education matters. He said a majority of students after completing their form four exams take back seats without thinking about how they will develop their careers and stabilise their economic status in future.Mbogo said there are very many employment opportunities which youth should take advantage of.He, however, appealed to parents in the constituency to always guide their children and avoid forcing them to pursue careers that they have no interest in.“At times as parents we push our children to the wall without recognising that some have different ideas of exploring their talents with the intention of benefitting from them in future,” said Mbogo. He said youth should brainstorm and come up with ideas of how to create employment opportunities. The MP said his office was carrying out the ‘Elimu Kwanza’ (Education first) programme that aims to assist students to pursue higher learning and choose the right career path.“We have been conducting the Elimu Kwanza programme since 2013 so since we are now in power, we need to expand it so that it benefits more needy students,” he said.Is there a newsworthy accident, incident or event happening in Mombasa County that you want Hivisasa to cover?
