They include Mavoko MP Patrick Makau, Kathiani’s Robert Mbui and East African Legislative Assembly MP Peter Mathuki.

Speaking during a Law Society of Kenya, Machakos Chapter’s in Mavoko on Wednesday, the legislatures said the Kenyan Police is “rotten” hence needs Nkaissery’s quick intervention.

“Police officers are employed to protect citizens and their property, it is embarrassing to hear that security agents are involved in extra-judicial killings of innocent residents,” said Makau.

Makau said it is high time the CS makes police officers whether regular or APs in the entire nation understand that their roles are not to kill innocent Kenyans unnecessarily but offer them and their property maximum protection.

“This country cannot be secure if our security forces are the source of insecurity, Mavoko residents especially those from Athi River, Mlolongo, Syokimau and Katani have totally lost confidence in police,” said Makau.

The MPs condemned the killings of Willie Kimani, his client Josephat Mwenda and taxi driver Joseph Muiruri terming it criminal and inhuman.

They said administration police department should be restructured and disarmed to end extra-judicial killings across the country.

The legislatures joined some Kenyans, Law Society of Kenya and Civil Society organizations in pushing for the resignation of Nkaisserry and Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinett over the trio’s killings.

They condemned the Machakos Government for installing non-functional CCTV cameras on Athi River town streets which cannot capture criminal activities whenever they are being effected.

“As much as we are blaming the police, we should also fault the Machakos Government for erecting “toy” CCTV cameras on Athi River streets,” said Makau.

Makau said the cameras could have recorded the three being abducted while from Mavoko Law Courts on the fateful day if they were functional.
