Members of parliament have expressed frustrations over the delayed disbursement of the Constituency Development Fund by the National Treasury.

The lawmakers are now asking for an explanation from the treasury since the delay has led to stalling of major projects at the constituency level.

The lawmakers led by David Ochieng (Ugunja), Mary Emase (Teso South), John Serut (Mt. Elgon), Nelson Gaichuhie (Subukia) and Robert kose (Endebes) called for urgent disbursement of the funds.

However, the treasury has assured that the funds are now in transit to the National Constituency Development Fund Board before being deposited into respective constituency accounts. 

He added that his committee has already held discussions with Cabinet Secretary for Finance Henry Rotich about the urgency in disbursing funds. Caption :
