While presenting their views on a motion tabled in support of the initiative in Parliament Wednesday, majority of lawmakers from both the Jubilee and opposition's National Super Alliance (NASA) blocs concluded that the decision by the two is necessary for the nation's well being.

Coming amid a refusal by a section of NASA top leadership to acknowledge the development, the MPs hit out at Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, his Amani National Congress (ANC) counterpart Musalia Mudavadi and Ford Kenya's Moses Wetangula for opposing the agreement.

Eldas lawmaker Aden Keynan took issue with their recent remarks, that the talks were rather between two individuals and lacked a national angle, terming is as an insult on the two.

"Its wrong for them to refer to the President and Odinga as two individuals, these are respected leaders who enjoy massive support across the country," said Keynan.

The comments were echoed by his Suna East counterpart Junet Mohamed who stressed on the need for the nation to follow the example set by the leaders.

"Their decision to come together means a lot for this country. We have to follow in their footsteps as they mean well for Kenya," said Mohammed.

The trio has decried its exclusion in the talks, despite being part of NASA, and is now pushing for a separate meeting.
