The ODM has given the National Treasury one week to release funds that will see the embattled IEBC commissioners vacate office.
According to the Star, three ODM MPs said if the Treasury doesn’t release the funds within the stated period, then the party will have no other option rather than going back to the streets.
On Saturday, Siaya Senator James Orengo, Fred Outa (Nyando MP) and his Suna East counterpart Junet Mohamed, warned that the looming protests would be murkier than those held in May.
At least five demonstrators died while scores were injured during the anti-IEBC protests.
The legislators now want President Uhuru to move fast and facilitate the commissioner's exit.
Orengo who spoke in claimed they suspect a Jubilee conspiracy to delay the 2017 elections over the failure to release the funds to ensure the Isaack Hassan-led team quits office.
"There is a plot by Uhuru to block recruitment of new commissioners. Should he fail to release the funds, we shall fight the war we know best," he said as quoted by the Star.
On his part, Outa said Jubilee wants to extend their power by employing unorthodox means.
“We will be back to demand our right,” he said.
“Jubilee plans to have next poll conducted by IEBC as currently constituted and should this happen, Cord will boycott the polls," added MP Junet.
