The CS of Interior Security, Joseph Kaimenyi and foreign affairs CS, Amina Mohammed were grilled by MPs due to the Kakuma and Dadaab Camps.
On Wednesday, two committees, the Defence and Foreign Relations and Delegations Legislations were asked by the Human Rights Caucus to summon the two CS on the decision.
The MPs including Shukran Gure of Garissa, Rachel Ameso of Kakamega, Alice Chae of Nyamira and John Waigajo of Ol Jorok condemned the forcing of refugees back to where they fled for their lives.
‘‘The reasons behind closing the camps are that they are a threat to our national security yet there are no convictions that prove the same," said Shukran Gure.
Several Members further stated the repatriation can cause more insecurity due to the bad blood that will be created by the same which might be used as vengeance.
The grill expected to be done next week will see Amina Mohammed answer on what the government has done on donation to the camps while CS, Nkaissery will answer on the protocol used in gazetting the refugee repatriation and disbanding Refugee Affairs department.
The two CS’ have, however, been adamant on their stand on the closure of the Daadab Camp.
