Mwingi West MP Charles Nguna has rebuked the   Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party for ousting Bungoma senator and NASA principal Moses Wetangula as the senate minority leader.

Speaking to journalists at Parliament Buildings in Nairobi on Tuesday, Nguna termed ODM’s move as selfish and betrayal to the NASA coalition.

He said that the Raila Odinga led party went on to oust the senate despite NASA summit recommending the senator to remain as senate minority leader.

“Raila’s party has shown the highest level of betrayal by de-whipping Wetangula as the senate minority leader and their action now spells doom for the NASA coalition,” he said.

Nguna accused the Orange party of disrespecting other affiliate parties and defying orders by the NASA summit.

He accused Orange leader Raila Odinga of doing little to save Wetangula.“Raila had the power to save Wetangula but he chose not to,” the vocal Wiper Mwingi West legislator said.

Nguna asked ODM party to quit the NASA coalition instead of causing more problems.

He said that NASA’s reforms risks halting should ODM continue to undermine and threaten stability of the coalition.

On Tuesday, nineteen NASA senators voted to oust Wetangula as the senate minority leader.Wetangula will now be replaced by Siaya senator James Orengo.

Wetangula has rubbished the ouster saying that he will continue discharging his duties as the senate minority leader.

Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has also scoffed at ODM party senators moved  to oust the senator, saying it is likely to lead to NASA’s fall.

Last week, Raila Odinga denied have knowledge of the ODM senators push to oust the Bungoma senator.
