National Assembly Members have vowed to oppose the bill tabled by IEBC on election amendments if the clause that recquires them to hold a degree is scraped.
The clause proposes that every political aspirant who is interested with the position of an MP should hold at least a degree while those interest with Member of County Assembly posts hold at least a diploma.
The Mps also demanded that the period given to civil servants to resign from the public service positions when they announce their political ambition be reduced from one year.
The Members of the National Assembly who are opposed to the clause in the amendment includes Mbita MP Millie Odhiambo, Togaren MP Eseli Simiyu and Taveta MP Naomi Shaban.
They reiterated that every Kenyan has the right to vie for any political position regardless their education level and no one should stop them from executing their ambitions.
The leaders speaking outside parliament buildings argued that leadership is a talent that one doesn't need to go to school to attain the skills.
