Two MPs from Nyamira County have expressed their confidence that opposition chief Raila Odinga will trounce President Uhuru Kenyatta in the 2017 polls and urged the Gusii community to remain steadfast in the opposition.
Jubilee Party has been making inroads both in Nyamira and Kisii counties with Deputy President William Ruto visiting the region on over 10 occasions since 2013 after losing to the ODM.
And now, Charles Geni of North Mugirango faulted the Jubilee administration's development record in the region, while assuring residents that a Raila presidency would "fix’ the Jubilee mess."
“The Jubilee government is very discriminatory and they only reward their loyalist contrary to the Constitution. We, however have hope if we vote for Raila Odinga. I am sure he will win the 2017 polls and fix the mess here,” he said.
“In this era, we should not beg for development because it’s our right in the constitution. Let’s vote for Raila because he has the credentials of leading this nation and he is a unifying factor,” he added.
On his part, West Mugirango MP James Gesami urged residents to register in numbers and propel the veteran leader to State House saying he has ‘a sober mind’ to lead the nation.
“Let us register as voters in numbers to ensure Raila wins. At the moment, numbers favors him and we are sure of being in government should we vote him,” he said.
