Moiben Member of Parliament Silas Tiren has promised to improve the infrastructure of all schools in his constituency by constructing more classes within the next five years.
The MP said this will help improve student’s performance.
“It's my priority that in the next five years Moiben schools will provide a conducive and ideal environment for learning since the infrastructure is key to education improvement. I want every school to have permanent classes,” he said after commissioning the Kapnasu water project and Kapnasu ICT centre, Sunday.
“I shall work with all the leaders and stakeholders to see that education is improved in my constituency,” he added.
The MP, however, urged Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to employ more teachers in the constituency to help address an acute shortage currently being experienced.
“It is sad that a school likes St. Josephs Kapnasu has only 10 TSC teachers despite it having a population of 300 students. This is among the problems that made the constituency to perform badly in 2018 KCSE exams,” noted Tiren.
