Two Members of Parliament from the coast region have threatened to further expose the source of Mombasa governor Hassan Joho's immense wealth.
Kilifi North MP Gideon Mung'aro and his Kilifi South counterpart Mustafa Iddi have hit out at Joho for referring to them as “commodities bought by the Jubilee government.”
“Our journey to send him packing has just begun. He won’t scare us with his money. Actually, we know the source of his wealth,” Mung’aro said in an interview
The recent war of words comes barely two days after Mung'aro launched his bid for Kilifi governor in 2017.
“Who does not know that Joho was made an assistant minister of transport in the previous government? He majorly concentrated on close monitoring of Mombasa Port. In five years, he engaged in illegal trade and made the money that he is now bragging about,” added Iddi.
The two MPs have also vowed to to marshal coast residents to ensure Joho does not get re-elected as Mombasa governor in next year's general elections.
