Members of Parliament have asked the Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinett to enhance their security following several threats in their line of duty.
Jamleck Kamau (Kigumo), Kimani Ichung'wa (Kikuyu) and Aden Duale (Garissa Town) are among the MPs who have experienced insecure moments.
Last month, Ichung'wa told parliament that his life is in danger after he received threats from the illegal Mungiki sect. Tiati MP Asman Kamama confirmed the return of the illegal gang in Kiambu and Nakuru counties and asked the IG to ensure the gang is pursued.
On Saturday night, Jamleck Kamau woke up to find two of his cows poisoned and later cut their ears.
On Monday, Duale's bodyguard was attacked and wounded, which made the Garissa MP to asked for improved security.
The MPs have jointly said they will make a petition to parliament so that their security is guaranteed.
