A section of leaders from Kisii and Nyamira county have vowed to push for the release of Don Bosco Gichana from Tanzania.
Addressing mourners during the burial of Bosco’s mother in Marani Kitutu Chache North led by Kitutu Masaba Member of parliament Timothy Bosire, they said that they will push until Gichana is released.
Bosire who represented the former Prime minister Raila Odinga at the burial said that there are talks ongoing between Raila and Tanzanian President Pombe Magufuli to push for Gichana's acquittal.
“There are talks which are ongoing and we hope that our son is going to be released so that he can come back home,” said Bosire.
Kapseret Member of parliament Oscar Sudi who was present and is a relation to the Gichana family said that he will mobilise other MPs to go to Tanzania to release Don Bosco.
“I am going to mobilise MPs whom I Know can give us support so that we can go to Tanzania and camp there until Don Bosco he is released," said Sudi.
“We are aware that Tanzania has no evidence of retaining Don Bosco they have tried to look for some mistakes but they have not found any so we need our brother back for the family to settle,” added Sudi.
