It has now emerged that majority of Members of Parliament are yet to submit their biographical details to Parliament as the required.

This comes after three months following the opening of the 11th parliament.

Among the notable details yet to be submitted are resumes.

The MPs biodata was meant to inform Kenyans about the professional and academic qualifications of their representatives.

The biodata was to be updated on the Parliament website by the office of the clerk.

According to Nation, during orientation, MPs were required to come along with their national identity cards and certificates from the returning officers that declared them winners.

In the past, the lawmakers were only required to present information about themselves to the Parliamentary Service Commission’s Human Resource Department. It was, however, not mandatory for them to provide their CVs.

“As part of accountability to the public, their biodata will be captured on the day of orientation and will be posted on the website so that no one will have issues knowing our leaders,” National Assembly clerk Michael Sialai said at a meeting in May.
