A man being detained for the murder of IEBC ICT boss Chris Msando and a woman is pleading that his detention period be halved.

60-year-old Andrew Kiprotich moved to the High Court requesting for the reduction of his 14 day detention to seven days.

The KenGen accountant was on Monday taken to court by detectives seeking the court's intervention to review the custodial orders.

The prosecution was ordered by Justice James Wakiaga to respond to the request on September 4.

Last week, a 16-year-old was arrested after she was found with a phone said to have been used to send death threats to Msando.

She was arrested while at her aunt's home in Awendo by DCI officers.
