Two suspects linked to the brutal murder of Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission ICT Manager Chris Msando have been arrested.
According to the Director of Criminal Investigations Ndegwa Muhoro, investigators have been granted custodial orders by the court to enable them complete the probe.
“We have two suspects in custody who are under investigation over the murder,” said Muhoro as quoted by Capital FM, Thursday.
“We applied and the court granted us custodial orders to enable us finalise the investigations,'' he added.
Muhoro noted they have not yet established the motive of the murder but have questioned several suspects.
The late Msando’s body was found alongside that of Carol Ngubu, a female friend, in Kikuyua area on the outskirts of Nairobi and taken to the city mortuary a week before the August General Election.
Post mortem revealed he was tortured and then strangled.
Msando’s requiem mass was held on Thursday at Consolata shrine in Westalnds, Nairobi. During the mass, his widow Eva called on government to punish the killers of his husband.
The late IEBC ICT manger will be buried on Saturday.
