The 2016 Gala Awards competition will be held on November 18, 2016, the Marketing Society of Kenya (MSK) has announced.

The awards will recognise effective work that has run across the Kenyan marketing and communication space with the main sponsors being Google, NHIF, Sameer Africa and real estate developer Optiven.

A total of sixteen categories will be feted this year including; Product Launch, Product Re-Launch, Advertising Campaign, Digital Marketing, Experiential marketing, Sales Promotions, Brand PR, Sports Marketing, Integrated Marketing Communications, Brand Loyalty, Sustainability Marketing, Best Distribution Strategy and Implementation 2016, Brand Lead of the year Sales Lead of the Year, Marketing Lead of the Year, Best Marketing Medium of the year and the 2016 Overall Winner.

MSK Chairperson Maggie Ireri said the MSK annual Gala Awards initiative, is recognised throughout the industry as the global standard of marketing excellence in the country and beyond.

MS Ireri is also the Managing Director of TIFA Research.

"The marketing communications industry in Kenya is going through a period of immense growth. We are thrilled to work with all our partners to expand the focus on marketing and communications effectiveness at every corner of this country and award effort,” she said.

She added ‘’We all know that the MSK Gala awards is increasingly recognised by the industry as a must-win award recognition, in a world where creativity is admired but effectiveness delivers the bottom line. Kenya is where exponential growth in communications is being realised and, without a doubt, is considered as a creative hub in Africa.”

Entrants include marketing and communication agencies as well as corporates.

The submission deadline has been extended to Friday, October 21, 2016 to give entrants ample time to submit their projects.
