Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu has rubbished claims that ODM Party leader Raila Odinga’s meeting with former Governor William Kabogo early this week means that Mt Kenya is warming up him ahead of 2022.

Waititu says that Kabogo met Odinga on his personal and individual capacity and did not represent the Mt Kenya community.

Speaking to journalist's at Kiambu Town on Friday, the Jubilee governor asked Kenyans to stop misinterpreting Raila’s meeting with leaders from Mt Kenya region.

“Kabogo met Raila on his personal capacity and people should stop equating that meeting to mean that Mt Kenya is warming up to Raila,” he said.

The Kiambu governor maintained that Mt Kenya is solidly behind Deputy President William Ruto.

Kabogo’s meeting with Raila raised eye brows coming days after the former Prime minister had met Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria.

Speculations are now rife that Mt Kenya could be plotting to dump DP Ruto in favour of Raila Odinga.

All these is happening as a result of last month famous handshake between Raila and Uhuru where the two leaders pledged to work together for unity.   

On Thursday, Raila met former retired president Daniel Arap Moi at his Kabarak home where they discussed matters national unity.

Their meeting continues to draw wide reactions among politician's across the political divide.
