Kenya have been urged to stick to the 2013 agreement that promised DP William Ruto to take over from President Uhuru Kenyatta after his second term.According to the Daily nation, Kiambu Youth Caucus Mr. Linford Mutembei said after a meeting on Monday in Kiambu that the President has always supported his deputy’s bid to be the next president and it will be wise if all other leaders from Central Kenya followed suit.“The president, who is the region’s kingpin has always backed Mr. Ruto’s 2022 bid. Other leaders in the Mount Kenya region should unconditionally support it,” Mutembei said as quoted by the Daily Nation.Mutembei further said that failure by the Mount Kenya leaders to honour the 2013 deal will see the community earn a ‘dishonesty’ tag as far as politics is concerned. He added that the unity of the ruling party also depends on the support that will be accorded to the DP by members from the community.“Otherwise (not supporting William Ruto) Jubilee’s strength and unity will be threatened and the community will get a dishonesty tag as far as politics is concerned,” Mr. Mutembei added.
