Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago says Peter Kenneth is being groomed for 2022 presidency by powerful politicians from Central Kenya.
The former Gatanga MP, who also vied for presidency in 2013, said he will be vying for a gubernatorial seat in 2017.
He also declared support for President Uhuru Kenyatta last week.
Governor Mandago said that the Kikuyu community must vote for Deputy President William Ruto come 2022, to pay a political debt of the 2013 and upcoming 2017 polls.
Mandago said there was a scheme to malign the DP’s name and bar him vying for presidency.
“We are telling them that, dawa ya deni ni kulipa. In 2022, they have to vote for Ruto, because we have voted for them in 2013 and we will do the same in 2017,” Mandago said in Kapseret, during the funeral of former aspirant for Kapseret Wesley Kirorei.
“For those who dream they will tarnish Ruto’s name through someone called Boniface Mwangi so that by 2022 they can start giving excuses, we will not accept that,” the governor said, as quoted by the Star.
“We even know where they meet at night to plan moves against Ruto and we will soon name those involved,” claimed the governor.
Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi who was also present at the burial said the Kalenjin community will not allow themselves to be used and dumped come 2022.
