Lawmakers drawn from the larger Mt Kenya region have warned residents against voting for Opposition coalition NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga.

Led by Gichugu MP Njogu Barua under the UhuRuto Express banner, the MPs claimed that NASA would halt mega projects initiated by the Jubilee administration should they win the general elections.

He cited the construction of major roads that the ruling administration is undertaking in the region, warning that such projects would be stopped by NASA.

Barua accused the Opposition of being envious of Jubilee's track record, which he marked as "successful."

The legislators challenged the locals to turn out in their numbers to reelect President Uhuru Kenyatta, observing that a higher turn out would ensure that Uhuru gets a resounding victory.

UhuRuto Express is seeking to mobilize perceived Jubilee Party strongholds to turn out and vote on August 8.
