A lot of conversations are being held with respect to the future of our current Deputy President, Hon. William Ruto.

One topic of discussion is the possibility of an easy win in 2022.

The win will come about by the voting of the Mt. Kenya region as a block and for Hon. Ruto.

The communities that back Uhuru will be obligated to vote for Ruto for he had delivered Rift Valley for Jubilee in 2013 and 2017.

But I beg to differ.

The Mt. Kenya region of peoples is not obligated to vote in Hon. Ruto.

The presidency is not a seat where individuals take turns occupying it.

The occupier of the seat has to prove his worth and campaign with a clear-cut manifesto and a vision for the entire country in general.

Failure to be all inclusive and aware that you are not serving two communities will probably cost Ruto the seat in 2022.

More so with the current polarization of the country along the lines of Jubilee and Nasa coalition.

Ruto will have a huge task ahead.

He will have to convince the Mt.Kenya region that he can follow in the footsteps of Uhuru.

He also has to get the blessings of his own backyard from prominent retired politicians like retired President Moi.

To add to the above, he has to gather several votes in Nasa territory for him to win as prescribed by the constitution.

Another headache for the current DP is choosing a politically strong and able running mate!
