Professor Simin Gicharu, the founder of Mt. Kenya University, has expressed his consternation at a Kiambu County Assembly motion that seeks to give 70% of jobs to the locals.He termed the move as backward and assured people living in Kiambu but are not natives that their jobs are not at risk.The motion has attracted vicious debate on social media.''We should be seeking to remove stereotyping from among ourselves and should support our president who has been at the forefront of encouraging national integration.'' Prof. Gicharu said.Gicharu said that Mt. Kenya University would encourage integration and afford opportunities for all without regard to their ethnicity or any other discriminatory considerations.
