The promise by a section of Mt Kenya politicians that Deputy President William Ruto will inherit president Uhuru Kenyatta support base seems to be weakening.

Former Kiambu governor William Kabogo said that 'they are still looking at things' as far as the 2022 politics is concerned.

Kabogo has been opposing, though quietly, the automatic backing of DP Ruto by the Mt Kenya block.

“We are not political wheelbarrows to be pushed right, left and centre by anyone,” said Kabogo over the 2022 politics.

“We are all here to see, keep your eyes open. The game has just started," the moneyed politician said.

Kabogo spoke just days after Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria assured the DP that the Mt Kenya region has already decided.

Ruto is hopeful that Mt Kenya voters will vote him.to man after he marshalled his troops in the Rift Valley behind President Uhuru kenyatta for ten year.

Pundits however say voices such as that of Kabogo may spoil Ruto's 2022 game plan.
