President Uhuru Kenyatta should appoint to the Cabinet individuals who will help him shape his legacy, a political lobby has said.
Mount Kenya Youth Caucus urged the President to consider loyalty, qualifications and the will to serve as he ponders on who to include in his next administration.
"Uhuru needs to appoint performers who are loyal to him and who will ensure Jubilee achieves its development and political agenda," said group chairman Linford Mutembei on Friday.
Speaking in Kiambu Town, Mutembei said the appointment of leaders should not cause cracks in their regions by causing controversy.
"For instance, Mount Kenya region has had CSs Mwangi Kiunjuri (Devolution), Jacob Kaimenyi (Lands) and James Macharia (Roads), whose appointments did not stir up controversy because they were welcomed by the majority, and continuation of the same will help keep the region united," he said.
The lobby boss added that the positions should be fairly distributed across the country to ensure all regions fell included and represented in the government.
