Police in Eldoret town have launched an investigation after a Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital doctor was found dead at his house, Monday morning.

According to the Eldoret East OCPD Wilson Abduba, the body of the doctor identified as Boutros Mbugua was found in his house at the Elgon View estate, in the outskirts of Eldoret town.

He said preliminary investigations show that the doctor was hit by a blunt object in his head.

"We found a huge stone where the lifeless body was lying and the head had a swelling. We suspect the stone was used to hit the doctor," said Abduba.

No suspect has been arrested in relation to the incident but the OCPD said they have launched investigations with the intention of arresting those behind the heinous act.

"A serious and thorough operation is currently ongoing and we are going to get those culprits," Abduba said.

"We've also enhanced patrols in the whole Elgon View estate as we've realized there has been an upsurge of criminal activities in the area," he added.
