The Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) Eldoret on Friday held an induction for new Board Chairman Mark Bor and Moi University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Isaac Kosgey, who is joining the Board as a substantive member.
Bor was appointed to chair the MTRH board by President Uhuru Kenyatta, on 28th March 2018 for a period of three years.
Speaking during the induction Bor lauded the Hospital's Management for the positive transformation of the institution and called on the staff to dedicate their efforts towards quality service delivery.
"I urged the Hospital Management to safeguard the reputation of the hospital by providing quality health care to clients since our aim is to provide quality and not quantity healthcare,” he said.
“I am committed to fully both moral and financial support to the Hospital Management in every aspect to ensure MTRH delivers on its mandate,” added the new MTRH board chair.
Prof. Kosgey on his part expressed gratitude to the Hospital Management for a warm reception. He asked MTRH Chief Executive Dr. Wilson Aruasa to consider reviewing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two institutions to accommodate emerging trends, especially in sports medicine.
Dr. Aruasa welcomed the two to the Hospital and by extension to the MTRH Board of Management.
The two new members were also taken through the Hospital's complete flagship projects which included; Nursing Simulation Centre, the AMB 250 Ecostery Clinical Waste Management Plant House and installation of Microwave Clinical Waste Equipment.
