Kiambaa MP Paul Koinange has castigated the Coalition for Reform and Democracy (Cord) for for what he has termed as a scheme by the opposition to soil DP William Ruto's name.
Koinange says that Cord wants to discredit the government by linking DP Ruto to the Sh28 billion Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital upgrade saga.
Speaking in Muchatha Ward in his Kiambaa Constituency during a road inspection tour yesterday, Koinange said that Cord could be playing politics with the foiled scandal to gain relevance.
"The person who brought out this matter was Raila Odinga's former aide and these people are just on a mission to mudsling Ruto's name," said Koinange.
The MP said that it has become the opposition's habit to look for something to keep Kenyans talking and disrupt the government's agenda.
"We are now aware of their tactics. They want the government to divert its attention from the important things and make noise with them," he said.
He now proposes that the matter be taken by the relevant government agencies to investigate and give tangible answers to Kenyans.
Cord has already absolved its leader, Raila Odinga from the scandal and told the government to sort out its mess.
