The hospital was put up through financing by the Nakuru County Government.

Area MCA Njuguna Gichamu who spoke during the opening on Wednesday said that such facilities will continue to be opened in the area as funds are there to finance them.

The residents will now be spared from travelling long distances to Molo where they have been going for treatment.

"It is a good maternity and it will serve our women well. There are other hospitals lined up in Mung'etho, Sasumwa and Murinduko. We expect them to be completed soon," said Gichamu.

Residents have applauded the move saying it has come at the right time.

"We are happy because this is the only maternity in Kuresoi and now our women can now relax. It was long overdue," Job Muhia, a resident said.

"Women will have no problem during delivery whether day or night. We thank our MCA and the county government for this much needed facility," Leah Ruto, another resident added.
