Speaking on Monday in Muchatha Ward during a public meeting to discuss development agenda, Kiambaa MP Paul Koinange revealed that he is working closely with the national government to initiate more development projects in the area.

“The government has taken over the project to build the stretch from Kiambu Road to Muchatha through Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KERRA). The project involves expansion and putting tarmac on this particular road. I will also oversee the repair of the stretch from Kiambia to open more opportunities for development,” he said.

These projects, he said, will be completed by March next year. He also revealed the plans to light some dark places in the ward to curb insecurity cases.

“I am also committed to solve insecurity problems through installation of floodlights in the dark spots in Muchatha Ward. I have been given a list of places that need lighting but the budget is a little tight. However, we will manage to put up ten floodlights in the crime prone areas,” he added.

Residents welcomed the move and applauded the MP’s development plans in the area.

“We are optimistic that business will come to life again and flourish when these projects are completed. I own a hardware store and we have been affected immensely by poor roads and insecurity in the area,” James King’ori, a businessman said.
