Mucheru said the allegations made by Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) Management Committee on Tuesday are sideshows designed to whip up public emotions and sympathy.

"The allegations by senators James Orengo (Siaya) and Johnstone Muthama (Machakos) are malicious, false and baseless and should be treated with the contempt they deserve," said Mucheru.

Mucheru said the government had no reasons to bangle the elections since it believes in democratic elections.

"They have no evidence to prove what they are saying and as government, we respect the rule of law and democracy," said Mucheru in a statement.

On Tuesday, the Cord team alleged that, Ruto, Mucheru and the unnamed IEBC officials had discussed plans to block the implementation of electoral laws passed recently.

The DP has already rubbished the allegations as empty and destructive opposition propaganda.
