The Ministry of Information Communication and Technology has put in place measures to ensure there is steady growth in different sectors.

This is according to CS Joe Mucheru, who spoke today, Tuesday when he officially opened the Nairobi Innovation week.

According to the CS, the country is making huge strides in its quest to create more job opportunities for the young generation.

“I am convinced that areas of blockchain and artificial intelligence are going to be extremely key for the things that we need to do for the next five years,” he said.

He added: “Investing in Kenyan startups has a huge return. These innovations are not for startups only, they are also for those looking for places to invest and get a good return,”

He further noted that as a country, we have the ability to achieve great things in innovation, and it does not have to be in baby steps.

“As a country, we have the ability to leapfrog and go to the next stage, and I hope we can work together to make that happen,” he said.

He said the ministry will move to consolidate purchases and use ICT within government to ensure there is an efficient system.

“We will work on providing even government jobs that will ensure many of our youths are employed and have the skills they need to be able to earn a living, even from their rural areas,”
