This comes amid a brewing row within the party, which has since vowed to punish members who attended the National Super Alliance (NASA) chief Raila Odinga's January 30 ''People's President'' inauguration in Uhuru Park.

Osotsi led the delegation which also included Kakamega and Vihiga Senators Cleopa Malala and George Khaniri to the event, a move that the party has condemned, saying that it was not deliberated on.

Osotsi is, however,  blaming the party's instability on Mudavadi, accusing him of doing nothing to salvage the bloc.

''Our party has lost direction because our leader is silent. We need him to come out and lead us,'' he is quoted by the nation.

Malala, on the other hand, has accused the former Deputy Prime Minister of doublespeak.

He wondered why Mudavadi would be troubled by their presence at the inauguration after announcing that himself and the party are solidly in NASA.

''But why should they be offended by that if indeed they are committed to the coalition? Where do they belong?'' the Senator is quoted by the paper.
