The political equation in Vihiga county is set for a new dimension after Amani presidential candidate Musalia Mudavadi and Governor Moses Akaranga reaffirmed their commitment to work together so as to achieve their political ambitions.
Mudavadi held a meeting with Akaranga at Roddys Hotel in Luanda after addressing the Vihiga County Assembly and stated that they were working on how to have their political parties forge an alliance that will enable them carry the day in next year's general elections.
The political-foes-turned-allies assured their supporters that they will form a formidable force that will produce a winning team in the August polls.
Speaking before county MCAs, senior officers and wananchi, the leaders said that they will meet in Nairobi next week for a further consultation on the much anticipated alliance.
"We have agreed with the governor to meet in Nairobi next week to converse further on our political colaboration," said the former Deputy Prime Minister.
He added, "I want to join hands in developing our county and I will give whatever little help as the son of the soil."
Akaranga reiterated his decision to back Mudavadi's bid for presidency, adding that he will not relent on the promise.
"I have always said in my meetings that I firmly support my brother as he is guns for presidency for the second time. I repeat before him now that I'll be with him up to the end....I am a reverend and my prayers for Mudavadi will bear fruits next year," he added.
The governor however asked Mudavadi to back his re-election bid, taking issue with Mudavadi's supporters for using the social media to denounce his support for the former Vice President.
