Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi has called on President Uhuru Kenyatta to ensure fairness in the issuance of ID card.
Speaking at Busia Polytechnic, Mudavadi said the Uhuru's directive to the National Registration Bureau to issue Identity Cards to legible persons within a period of three days upon application, needs to be implemented.
According to Mudavadi, the directive is not only meant for the Jubilee strongholds as the mass voter registration exercise enters its second week.
The former deputy prime minister also said the main aim of the National Super Alliance (Nasa) was to ensure that citizens register as voters to smoke out Jubilee from power in August.
''Our common enemy are Jubilee leaders who we want to remove from power through the ballot. This can be made possible if Kenyans register in big numbers as voters,'' he said, Saturday.
